We started the long journey of a successful tennis school back in 2001...

History of the establishment of TKP

2001 | Beginnings

  • TJ Slávia Právnik and its tennis section have taken on an ambitious project to build a student base. Mgr. Ľubomír Kurek, a long-time coach of the Youth Training Center (TSM) in Rimavská Sobota, is coming to Bratislava.
  • In the fall, 3 preparatory camps for young tennis players from the Bratislava region were held in cooperation with the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic and the Bratislava Tennis Association (BTZ). It was attended mainly by boys and girls who had just finished competing in the HTO category.
  • The result of the camps was that 5 girls and 2 boys, born in 1990, 1991 and 1992, registered with TJ Slávia Právnik. They were joined by 2 girls who were already members of the tennis club at that time.

2002 | Youth Training Center

  • The positive results of the project implementation were reflected, among other things, in the fulfillment of the demanding criteria for the establishment of TSM. New young boys and girls arrived, but the first departures to the clubs of more famous names were also recorded.

2003 | First successes at the Slovak Championships

  • The boys' and girls' teams won the right to participate in the Slovak Team Championships in the younger student category, among the 8 best teams from each region. The girls won 4th place and the boys 5th place.

2004 | Center for centralized training of talented youth - establishment of the Trčka & Kurek Tennis School

  • The first stage of the construction of the tennis complex in Petržalka at Dudová ul. 2-4 has been completed. Young tennis players found optimal conditions for training here on four clay courts and two asphalt courts. In addition, the possibility was created for them to fulfill their school duties at the Dudova 2 Elementary School. The first successes were achieved in tournaments for younger students, at the Bratislava and Slovak championships.
  • At the indoor and summer BTZ championships, young tennis players from TJ Slávia Právnik won one 1st place, three 2nd places and three 3rd places. At the Slovak championships, they won one 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the individual categories. In the teams, the boys from TJ Slávia Právnik won 3rd place in the younger students category.
  • By moving to Dudová ul. very good conditions have also been created for the basic training of the youngest tennis players from 5 years of age and older. For their better training and care from kindergarten onwards, the Civic Association Právnik – Tennis School Trčka & Kurek was founded.

2005 | Winning the Children's Davis Cup - successes of the tennis school

  • The purposeful training of the youngest players in the HTO category was reflected in significant successes on the Czech circuit and a great advantage in Slovakia. At the Slovak-wide final of the Children's Davis Cup, the boys won 1st place and the girls took 2nd place in the Children's Fed Cup.

2006 | Právnik - Tennis School Trčka & Kurek became the best tennis school in Slovakia

  • 80-90 children aged 5 and older regularly train at the tennis school. Their training is not only focused on tennis, but the same emphasis is placed on the development of fitness indicators.
  • The achievements in the HTO category are even more significant than in the previous year, which was reflected in the complete success in the Children's Davis Cup and Children's Fed Cup, where the tennis school teams won both competitions in the national finals. In addition, the fruits of purposeful work are also beginning to be seen in the younger student category.

2007 | Boys and girls in the younger student category fight for the top places in the rankings

  • The efforts that TJ Slávia Právnik and its tennis school devote to the development of young talents are clearly reflected in the younger student category, in addition to the HTO category. The first two players from TJ Slávia Právnik are in the official younger student ranking for 2007.
  • This year, TJ Slávia Právnik will also organize a total of 24 tournaments in the student categories and the HTO category, while TK Slávia Agrofert, Inter Slovnaft, Slovan and Spoje will organize only 15 tournaments in the same categories.
  • For the first time, the most players qualified for the BTZ indoor championships from TJ Slávia Právnik. All of them are graduates of the Trčka & Kurek Tennis School
