February brought more nice tennis moments to TKP – from the first outdoor court of the year to the many tournament successes of our players at home and on the international stage.
With the arrival of the first sunny days, we launched the first outdoor court in Bratislava in 2026 on Nobelovo námestie. After the winter months, it was a pleasant signal for all tennis players in the club that the new season is slowly starting.
We were very happy with Artur Darnady, who won his first title at the under-8 tournament in Kysucké Nové Mesto. In the final, he managed a close fight and won 8/6, 7/5. This result is all the more valuable because it was only his third tournament in his life. Artur showed the other kids in the club that there was no need to be afraid of their first tournament experiences.
Other TKP players also achieved success. Tobiáš Kraus won 1st place in doubles at the under-12 tournament in Bratislava together with Dušan Popovič. Nela Kusendová added 2nd place in singles and 1st place in doubles with Nina Lajdová at the same tournament. At the highest category tournament under-14 in Slovenská Ľupča, Samuel Zuberec won 3rd place in doubles with Šimon Kováčik, and Matej Mihal took 3rd place in doubles at the under-12 tournament in Bratislava together with Lukáš Nemček.
The domestic category A tournament under-12 in TKP was also a big event, bringing many quality matches and a strong participation of domestic players. Head coach Janko Lörinčík highlighted the fighting performances of several younger players, especially Matej Mihal, Tobiáš Kraus and Peter Remenár, who were able to assert themselves even against older opponents. However, the greatest success of the tournament belonged to Lukáš Lörinčík, who became a double winner – he won both singles and doubles and confirmed his excellent form.
They also did well in other tournaments. Mateo Hudec won 3rd place in the under-10 tournament in Bratislava. Diana Kadlečíková won the singles at the women's tournament in Bratislava and, together with her club teammate Nela Hlucháňová, added 2nd place in doubles. Nela Kusendová won the doubles at the under-12 tournament in Lieskovec together with Alexandra Záhradníková. Richard Kučera and Filip Vaškanín took 3rd place in the doubles under 18 in Trenčín and Max Hvorecký took 2nd place in the doubles under 18 together with Tobias Baranovič.
Our players also tried out the international scene in February. Andrej Adamović and Max Lörinčík represented Slovakia at the European Team Championships under 16.
Another nice result came from Bratislava, where Oliver Kozel did well in the boys' tournament under 14, category B. He took 3rd place in both singles and doubles.
